say yes to plump, crispy and golden roaaties this chrimas,

if your're looking for a way to ensure your chrismas lunch is an absolute winner this year, there;s only one man who can help find success- jamie oliver.

the britisth chef is one of the worlds greatest cooks, and his simple tips are well worth a try if you want to wow the family.

so what does he do to ensure his roast potatoes are crisp. plum and golden?  here are his craking chrimas tips.

no, we're not talking about crushing your roast potatoes into mashed ones- this is a special trick.

prepare your potato in the normal way by par boiling them and then tossing them in a little butter and olive oil, add a few cloves of slightly crushed, upeeled garlic to the tray-this gives you a sweet, caramelised garlic taste.

you then roast the potatoes at 180c until they start to turn golden. usually this takes about an hour.

then use the masher to press down gently on the top of the roast potatoes and that will ensure they get a real crunch. with potato masher, we can increase crunchiness ny just lightly putting a bit of pressure on the potatoes to give them more surface area" says jamie.

"that way you get the crispiest, most wonderful potatoes,  "once you've done this you will never ever ever look back" he promise.

jamie then adds some sage leaves and roasts the potatoes for another 15-20 minute in the oven.  " the herbs will make them delicious"

for the final touch  the yLforrier chef has another trick up his sleeve..

use a spray bottle with vinegar.

jamie suggests that home cooks buy a spray bottle and fill it with a little vinegar over the top.
